Halifax against Faith Christian baseball teams were the only ones play Wednesday, with Halifax falling 12-0. One day two in the baseball Chaloner Middle school were handed their first lost of the season.
The yellow Jackets fell to Rocky Mount Academy 14-5 moving them to a 8 PM game against Northeast Prep who lost earlier to Southampton Academy
Hobgood beat Brunswick Academy 15-5 in five innings. Halifax had to face Brunswick Academy in the 5:30 game. Halifax fell 14-4 exiting them from the tournament. Reid Lynch pitched the first 3 innings with Jesse Rose pitching the next 2 innings. Larry West had a 2RBI single and another RBI, while Reid Lynch and Colton Copeland each had a single and Evan Dail had a RBI.
Chaloner beats Northeast Prep 7-4 in the late game sending Northeast out of the tournament.
On Friday Faith Christian will face Hobgood and Southampton will face Rocky Mount Academy in the winners bracket while Chaloner and Brunswick stay alive in the loser bracket.
In softball Brunswick Academy beats Hobgood Academy to face Halifax Academy. Brunswick beats Halifax 9-4 to advance.
Chaloner middle girls won 20 - 0 over Northeast Prep in round one. Kimberly Etheridge pitched a 3 inning 1 hitter with 8 strikeouts. With M. Johnson having the sole hit for Northeast Prep with a lead off triple in the 2nd inning. For Chaloner Kimberly Etheridge and Kaitlin Rogerson leading the team going 4 - 4 at the plate followed by Morgan Davis, Meagan Colston, Abbie Carpenter, Raven Williams, and Ashley Agoglia all going 3 - 3 at the plate.
On Friday Chaloner Middle will face Southampton Academy with Brunswick facing that winner in the winners bracket. Hobgood will face Northeast Prep and Halifax will face that winner in the loser bracket.
