Roanoke Rapids softball wins a non-conference

Roanoke Rapids lady Jackets softball return to the diamond from spring break with a road win.

 

Roanoke rapids traveled to take on Rocky Mount and with fourteen hits picked up the win #11 with a 23-7 win.

 

Hunter Martin earned the win pitching 4 and 2/3 innings giving up 2 walks, 7 hits, 7 runs and handing out 6 strike-outs. Sierra Hearp came in for relief pitching 2 and 1/3 innings giving up no walks, no hits, no runs and handing out 5 strike-outs.

 

At the plate for Roanoke Rapids the Jackets had 14 hits. Leading hitters were Sierra Hearp with 2 doubles, a triple and 2 RBI;s, Haley Farrow with 2 singles, a triple and 3 RBI's, Hunter Martin and Hope Vincent both with 2 singles and 1 RBI each, Brooke McClenny with a single, a double and 4 RBI's, Brianna Allen had a single and 2 RBI's and Breanna Allen had  double and 1 RBI.

 

Roanoke Rapids improves to 11-2 an overall record and in third place in the Northern Carolina Conference with a 5-2 record and host conference game Thursday April 24th.
