Frances Eubanks Stone

 

Frances Scott Stone, 90, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family Monday, March 31, 2014, at Nash General Hospital.

Mrs. Stone was born in Edgefield County, South Carolina, August 5, 1923, to the late Alonzo Scott and Mattie McGee Scott.

She was a faithful member of Weldon United Methodist and was active in her community.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, William Isaac Stone, Sr.; sisters, Sarah McGee and Eleanor Scott, and her brothers, Ralph and Austin Scott. Surviving is her son, Scott Stone and wife, Elizabeth, of Macclesfield, NC; daughter, Deborah Eubanks Andrews and fiancé, Patrick Hamlett, of Chapel Hill, NC, and grandchildren, John Austin and Lauren Stone.

She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews as well as her friend and caregiver, Betty Jean Smith of Halifax, NC.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Mario Fiorilli, who cared for her for many years, and to the staff at Autumn Care of Nashville, who gave remarkable care to her for the last six weeks.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 6-8 pm. Rev.

Sue Owens will conduct funeral services at the chapel in Hockaday, Friday, April 4, 2014, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon, NC.

The family has suggested memorial contributions be sent to Weldon United Methodist Church, 415 Washington Ave., Weldon, NC 27890.
