Breanna Allen, an upcoming freshman at Roanoke Rapids High and a former starting pitcher for Chaloner Middle softball team this past season was part of another winning team this past weekend.
Allen plays travel softball for the Tarboro based Toxic Fast-pitch 99 team and the team traveled to Rocky Mount to play in the “NC USSSA Out of School Blast” tournament. Allen pitches and plays outfield.
The tournament was changed to a single elimination after the rain came in Saturday afternoon. The Toxic team had gotten both pool games in and was 1-1 heading to bracket play.
The team went 4-1 overall finishing in first place in the U14 division following up their State Championship last weekend in Kinston. They won the championship game 9-2. The Toxic team outscored their opponent 25-8 over the weekend.
