Woman cited after collision with motorcyclist

A Roanoke Rapids woman was cited following a Thursday night crash which resulted in a motorcyclist being airlifted for treatment of serious injuries.

An initial report by Master Officer Gerald Morris lists the name of the motorcyclist as Corey Lillibridge, 25.
In a statement Roanoke Rapids police Chief Chuck Hasty said the motorcyclist was first transported to Halifax Regional by Halifax County EMS and then flown out for further treatment.
The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. at Highway 158 near the Great Falls Shopping Center.
The driver of the car, Ashley Nicole Richardson, 28, of Roanoke Rapids, was leaving the shopping center when the motorcyclist was struck.
Morris cited Richardson for driving while license revoked, possession of open container, driving after consuming and unsafe movement.
She was released until her July 10 court date.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol assisted.
The Roanoke Rapids Fire Department, Roanoke Rapids Public Works Department, and North Carolina Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control.
