Boy was first baby of 2017 at HRMC

The first baby of 2017 in Halifax County was a 7 pound, 3 ounce boy born to a Jackson couple Sunday.

Benton Doyle Barrett is the son of Kelen and Benton Barrett of Jackson.

Baby Barrett was born January 1, 2017 at 12:25 AM in the Halifax Regional Medical Center's Birthing Center weighing 7 lbs. and 3 oz. and a length of 20".
