RRPD blotter: July 15-17, 2016

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Friday July 15, 2016
At approximately 1 a.m., Sergeant Mike Moseley responded to a motor vehicle larceny call in the 1500 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.
The victim reported they went inside a business to purchase some items and when they returned the vehicle was gone.
Witnesses told Moseley the vehicle left at a high rate of speed.
Moseley gave out a be on the lookout notification and Littleton police Officer McFadden stopped the vehicle on Highway 158.
McFadden arrested and charged John Christopher Watson, 41, of Roanoke Rapids, with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, injury to property and driving while impaired.
Watson received a $4,500 bond and August 17 court date.
Saturday July 16, 2016
At approximately 9 a.m., Lieutenant Perry Parks, Sergeant Daniel Jenkins and Officer Greg Colson received information on the location of Grady Lamont Jefferson, 30, who was wanted for a July 4 assault.
Jefferson was taken into custody at a residence on Powell Street without trouble.
He was served outstanding warrants for assault with a deadly weapon and assault.
Jefferson received an $8,000 bond and August 5 court date.
Officers also arrested Oscar Lee Carter Jr., 34, of Roanoke Rapids, at the residence on outstanding orders for arrest.
Carter received a $3,000 bond and August 16 court date.
At approximately 2 p.m., Parks conducted a traffic stop for a violation on Wilson Street.
During the stop he arrested Gloria Lynn Brookman, 27, of Midlothian Virginia, on an outstanding order for arrest.
Brookman received a $500 bond and August 5 court date.
Sunday July 17, 2016
At approximately 2 p.m., Master Officer Roy Ball responded to a report of a larceny at Walmart.
Loss prevention reported Rebecca Francis Robinson, 29, of Roanoke Rapids, took items.
Ball arrested and charged Robinson with larceny and possession of stolen goods.
She received a $1,000 bond and August 12, court date.
Jenkins assisted.
At approximately 3 p.m., Parks responded to a larceny call at Food Lion on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.
Staff told Parks Sherita Danielle Short, 35, of Roanoke Rapids, concealed items while inside the store.
Parks cited Short, who was released until her August 9 court date, with shoplifting concealment of goods.
At approximately 7 p.m , Officer Hannah Grimes responded to a larceny call at Walmart.
Loss prevention reported Latasha Nicole Kee, 34, of Garysburg, took items.
Grimes arrested and charged Kee with larceny, possession of stolen goods and resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer for giving a false name.
She received a $1,500 bond and July 22, court date.
Master Officer Jonathan Benthall and Officer Chris Biggerstaff assisted.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., Biggerstaff conducted a traffic stop for a violation on West Tenth near Hinson streets..
Biggerstaff saw the driver, Dustin Wayne Floyd, 25, of Seaboard, throw an object out of the window.
Biggerstaff located the item and discovered it to be narcotics.
Biggerstaff cited Floyd for improper equipment and possession of schedule VI.
He was released until his August 8 court date.
