Task force makes Fireball; complaint-driven arrests

The City County Drug Task Force made two arrests in Weldon today, one based on the Operation Fireball undercover sting and another based on citizen complaints.

Around 4 p.m., according to a statement by task force Captain A.M. Harris, agents executed a search warrant with the Weldon Police Department and arrested Calvin Richardson, 32, on the Fireball warrants.
No items were seized in the raid on East Sixth Street, Harris said, but Agent C. Parker served warrants to Richardson for the undercover operation. He faces charges for two counts each of possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sell cocaine and deliver cocaine. He was jailed on $20,000 bond and received an August 24 court date.
Meanwhile, shortly before 6:30 this evening agents executed a search warrant at East Seventh Street where marijuana and related paraphernalia was seized.
This search warrant, Harris said this evening, was based on citizen complaints.

Parker arrested and charged Antionette Harris, 33, for possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Ms. Harris was also served with an outstanding Halifax County order for arrest for worthless check.
She received a $325 bond and July 26 court date.
