RRPD blotter: July 5-7, 2016

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Tuesday July 5, 2016
At approximately 2 a.m., Officer Alex Green conducted a traffic stop for a violation on Roanoke Avenue near Thirteenth Street.
The driver, identified as Randrika Jacroll Vaughan, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, initially gave Green a false name. Green also learned Vaughan had an outstanding order for arrest.
She was charged on the outstanding order and for resist, delay and obstruct. She received a $3,500 bond and August 8 court date.
At approximately 7 p.m., Officer Patrick Smith responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Hamilton Street.
Smith learned there was an argument between the parties and noticed drug paraphernalia on a table in the residence.
Smith arrested and charged Jessie Wayne Todd Taylor, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, with possession of schedule VI and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He received a $1,000 bond and a July 25 court date.
Wednesday July 6, 2016
At approximately 9:30 a.m., Officer Hannah Grimes responded to a call about a person, later identified as Reginal Eugene Hardy, 30, of Roanoke Rapids, urinating in public.
Grimes arrested and charged Hardy, who received a $500 bond and August 8 court date, with the crime.
Master Officer Jonathan Benthall assisted.
Thursday July 7, 2016
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Officer Natara Velazquez conducted a traffic stop for erratic driving on a parking lot near Hamilton and Tenth streets.
During the stop the passenger, Jonelle Faye Hopkins, 34, of Gaston, was moving around in the vehicle and reaching under the seat.
Velazquez discovered Hopkins had an outstanding order for arrest. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a can converted into a smoking device.
Hopkins was arrested on the outstanding order and also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She received a $750 bond and August 26 court date.
The driver was cited for failing to comply with license restrictions.
Master Officer Gerald Morris assisted.
At approximately 1 p.m., officers responding to a larceny at Walmart received a call the person was spotted walking toward KFC.
Hasty spotted the person, later identified as Eugene Lee High, 54, of Roanoke Rapids, in the KFC parking lot.
The stolen items, along with drug paraphernalia, were found in his possession.
Grimes arrested and charged High with larceny, possession of stolen goods and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a $750 bond and July 22 court date.
Lieutenant Perry Parks and Benthall assisted.
