Complaints drive morning bust in Enfield

Continued citizen complaints about drug activity in Enfield led to an arrest this morning, the town's police department said.

Whitaker Baffine

Chief Tyree Davis said the arrest of of Baffine Ramond Whitaker, 40, came after a month-long investigation following complaints by residents in the House Street area in the town's housing project.

Davis said in a statement Detective Willie Murphy Jr., who investigated the case, executed a search warrant shortly before 7, along with other officers within the department.

Officers located individual baggies of marijuana and sandwich bags used for packaging. Davis declined comment on how much marijuana was seized.

Murphy charged Whitaker with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; maintaining a dwelling place for a control substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Whitaker received a $10,000 bond and awaits a July 20 court date.
