The Halifax Academy Lady Vikings 1A softball team defeated the 3A Arendell Parrott from Kinston Thursday night at Halifax 7–1 on senior night.

Halifax honored it's one senior Kayla Gaertner.

Ashlyn Cooke pitched all seven innings for Halifax striking out eight batters, walking  two and allowing only four hits.

At the plate for Halifax, Morgan Hudomint had 2 singles, Berkley Garner had a single and a double, Ashton Garner had a single and a double, 2 RBI’s, Ashlynn Liles had 2 singles and 1 RBI, Ashlyn Cooke had 3 singles and a double, 2 RBI’s, Emerson Poole had a single and Kayla Gaertner a single, a double, and 1 RBI.

Halifax improved to 10-5 overall and sits on top of the CIC conference 6-1 with Rocky Mount Academy second 5-1 with one conferecne game remaining. Therefor Halifax will atleast share to conference top spot if RMS beats Faith Vhristian.

Halifax Academy has two non-conference games raming before the NCISAA State playeoffs.
