I would like to thank the residents of Halifax County who attended our recent community open house on the proposed Halifax Aggregates project.

We are grateful for the time you took to learn more, ask questions, and share your perspectives.

We were encouraged by the feedback we received and are particularly excited about the strong interest in our high-paying jobs and life-long careers.

Attendees also noted how the quarry could support future development by providing essential building material in Halifax County. We also heard appreciation for our commitment to transparency as we shared detailed plans and studies upfront to keep everyone informed.

We understand that any project of this scale raises important questions.

Halifax Aggregates has extensive experience managing quarries nationwide, and we plan to exceed state and county regulations and requirements.

For example, on water and air quality, our project is designed to exceed North Carolina's strict state regulations.

We'll also use advanced controls to ensure the necessary blasting remains at a fraction of the thresholds considered safe by the state of North Carolina.

It is also worth noting in just the last few months, our Anson County stone project received unanimous approval from the Anson County Board of Commissioners for a special use permit. Much like our proposed development in Halifax County, the Anson County Project faced significant scrutiny from local elected officials and county administrators.

In partnership with these community leaders, we were able to design a project that protects critical interests and creates an economic engine for the county.

We desire to do the same here. Halifax County and Anson County are both classified as Tier 1 distressed counties by the North Carolina Department of Commerce. In fact, Governor Stein recently announced the Selectsite Readiness Program, which will provide a $3 million grant to Halifax County to help drive new economic activity.

This state recognizes Halifax County’s potential for long-term growth. We support that same vision and believe the county can achieve those goals.

We are confident that our investments will not only create new job opportunities for residents but will help support that goal and attract additional development to bolster future economic prospects.

We expect the quarry to generate more than 20 direct jobs at the site, along with dozens of additional trucking and maintenance positions.

Beyond employment, the operation is projected to produce over $300,000 each year in tax revenue. These funds can be reinvested into Halifax County’s growth and long‑term development priorities.

At Halifax Aggregates, we're not just building a quarry, we're investing in Halifax County's future. This project taps into valuable local resources while prioritizing environmental stewardship and community partnership. We look forward to future conversations with the community and welcome any input as we move forward.

Thank you again for your engagement.

Sincerely,

John Cross
Owner of Halifax Aggregates
