Troy Wayne Livesay passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024 with his family by his side.

Wayne, also known as “Gramps” and “Gibby”, was born on January 27, 1943 in Halifax County, North Carolina to Troy and Elsie Livesay. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Livesay.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Frances, his daughter, Cheryl Jones (Ronnie) of Emporia, Virginia, and son, Tracy Livesay (Sara-K) of Garysburg, North Carolina; grandchildren Brittany Jones of Farmville, Virginia and Jenna Livesay of Garysburg, North Carolina; Sister, Marsha Eide (Bruce) of Oak Island, North Carolina; sister-in-law Ann Livesay; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wayne loved his family, particularly his two granddaughters. He would do anything for anyone he came in contact with.  

Wayne was a founding member of 604 Hunt Club in Emporia, Virginia. He considered the club members his family.  One of his hobbies was four-wheeling with family and friends.  Wayne had a love for all animals, but his passion was German Shepards.

Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Gaston High School. He was a member of the National Guard.  He worked at J.P. Stevens for many years, before beginning his career in carpentry. He worked many years with Mike Copeland Construction.  

He continued his carpentry skills until his health declined.

Visitation will be at Wrenn Funeral Home Sunday from 6 to 8 with Funeral services on Monday at 2:00 with interment to follow.
