Bertha Matthews Deal, 85, of Roanoke Rapids, NC died Monday, November 1, 2021, at her residence.
Bertha was born in Halifax County, NC the daughter of the late George N. Matthews and Mattie Sue Matthews.

She was the widow of Kenneth M. Deal and was also preceded in death by her daughters, Shelby Ferguson and Geraldine Dale. She formerly worked with Enfield Apparel Company in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
Mrs. Deal is survived by: a daughter Marie Deal of Kill Devil Hills, NC; two sons, Thomas Hollowell, Sr. and his wife Edna, Davis Marshall Hollowell, Jr. and his wife Patricia, all of Roanoke Rapids; ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM, in Old Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Bill Payne officiating.
The Family will receive at 6511 Thelma Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
