Halifax County Schools, in partnership with Bordeaux Construction, is offering legacy bricks for sale — bricks which come from Eastman School’s original gym and administrative buildings which will be used for a walking path at the new school currently under construction.
It is a way, the school system said, “That will be an opportunity for families, alumni, and supporters to leave a lasting legacy at the new Eastman School. In honor of the rich history and significance of the old Eastman School.”
Bordeaux Construction will use these bricks to build a commemorative walking path which the school system said will preserve and honor the legacy of Eastman School for future generations.
The personalized bricks are available for purchase, each one engraved with a name, message, or commemorative inscription — up to 17 characters.

Each brick, including engraving, is available for $50. The engraved messages can celebrate milestones, honor loved ones, or simply share a personal note.
"We are excited to see the vision for the new Eastman School becoming a reality,” Superintendent Eric Cunningham said. “The progress we’ve made so far is a testament to the dedication of our construction team and the support of our community. This new building will not only provide an outstanding educational space for our students, but it will also honor the history and legacy of Eastman School in a meaningful way."
