A woman who the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office says uploaded more than $750 of company funds into her Chime account was arrested and charged with two counts of felony larceny by employee.
Major Anzell Harris said prior to Christmas, Jasmine Harvey, 27, on two occasions uploaded funds that were supposed to be placed in the business’s register system into her own account. The business is located on Highway 48 south of Roanoke Rapids.
Deputy R. Lafayette responded and collected register receipts and video footage. He entered an arrest warrant for the Roanoke Rapids woman.
On Tuesday the sheriff’s office received information that Harvey was working the register of a business located on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.
Detectives T. Byers and G. Keel went to that location and arrested Harvey without trouble.
She received a $5,000 bond and January 23 district court date.
