Several Veterans Day services are planned in the Roanoke Valley next month.

These are the known observances as of this report:

Center for Energy Education

A decorated North Carolina public servant will serve as the keynote speaker for C4EE’s 2024 Veterans Day program.

Larry Hall, deputy industrial commissioner with the state’s Department of Insurance will lead C4EE’s annual recognition ceremony set for November 7 from 10 a.m. to  2 p.m. at 460 Airport Road in Roanoke Rapids. 

Hall previously served as the secretary of North Carolina’s Department of Military Affairs.

Veterans Park, Roanoke Rapids

The public is invited to attend a Veterans Day service at Veterans Park on November 10 at 3 p.m.

The park is located in the vicinity of Centennial Park at the corner of Roanoke Avenue and Seventh Street.

Seating is available but attendees may bring their lawn chairs.

All local veterans will be celebrated.

There will be music and a happy 249th birthday wish to the United States Marines.  

The Redeemed Christian Center

We are the Redeemed Christian Center will hold a Veterans Day service at 1 p.m. on November 10.

The center is located at 51 Everlasting Lane in Roanoke Rapids.

Dinner will be served immediately after.

American Legion

American Legion Shaw-May Post 38 invites the public to its annual Veterans Day celebration. The event will be held at 11 a.m. on November 11 at 717 American Legion Road, Roanoke Rapids.  

The celebration will consist of a brief ceremony followed by a free lunch.
