A woman scheduled to appear in Halifax County Superior on felony identity theft counts in January was arrested today for an October 5 traffic stop in which she used her sister’s information to avoid traffic charges, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
Major Anzell M. Harris said Krystal Panacea Dudley, 39, of Roanoke Rapids, was jailed without the opportunity for bond after Deputy K. Tillery located her at a Premier Boulevard restaurant.

The charges against Dudley came after Sergeant P. Rackley was notified that during the traffic stop Dudley had given her sister’s information.
Rackley obtained warrants on Dudley for identity theft, operating a vehicle with no insurance, fictitious registration and no operator’s license.
Dudley has a January 20 superior court date on multiple felony identity counts as well as an October 24 district court date for felony conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense.
She has an October 16 district court date for Rackley’s charges.
