A Halifax County woman was sentenced to five to seven years in prison this week after she was convicted of a count of felony death by motor vehicle — the result of an impaired driving crash.

According to a statement by the office of District 7 District Attorney Kim G. Scott, Angela Teresa Vincent was sentenced Monday by Judge Brenda Branch.

On October 30t of 2021, Vincent drove a vehicle on North Carolina Highway 48 under the influence of alcohol and had a breath alcohol concentration of .18.

Vincent’s vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Sandy Archeta Evans of Hollister. 

The crash caused fatal injuries to Evans.

The case was investigated by Sergeant L Bynum and Trooper Z. Perry of the North Carolina Highway State Highway Patrol.
