The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Shane Guyant:

A Rocky Mount man remains in the Halifax County Detention Center following his arrest Thursday morning on warrants stemming from the theft of firearms in February and March.

The police department received reports on February 29 and March 4 at the same Jackson Street residence. A firearm was reported stolen in each of the crimes and Investigator S. Bryant linked them to Travis Wayne Robinson.

Bryant obtained felony warrants on Robinson, 37, for two counts of larceny of a firearm, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, and two counts of possession of a firearm by felon.

He was arrested Thursday morning around 1:30 by Master Officer K. Williams.

According to detention center records, Robinson has a hold from Wilson County for a May 15 district court date for driving while license revoked, a May 23 Halifax district court date for possession of a weapon by a felon, and a May 28 Halifax district court date for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Guyant said Robinson has previous convictions for possession of heroin and obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor larceny in Nash County.

Marijuana charges

On April 12 around midnight, Agent T. Acree of the Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force conducted a traffic stop due to a window tinting violation in the area of Fifth Street and Roanoke Avenue with the assistance of Officer B. Johnson.

Jalyn Michael Debroux, 19, of Roanoke Rapids, was identified as the driver.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located 166 grams of marijuana, individual small plastic bags, and a Glock 10mm firearm concealed in the vehicle.

Debroux was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver schedule VI, felony possession of schedule VI narcotic, maintaining a dwelling/automobile, possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Debroux, according to the state court calendar, has a May 23 district court date.

Larceny by employee

In March, a business located in Roanoke Rapids reported that its manager, Quiundo Michelle Lewis, had allegedly stolen over $14,000 from the business on or about February 28.  Investigator A. Salmon charged Lewis, 43, of Halifax with two counts of felony larceny by employee.

It was recently learned that on March 15 the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office had served Lewis with the warrants for arrest.

She has a May 23 district court date.
