Trillium Health Resources is opening an inclusive playground in Halifax County.
The opening will be held Tuesday at 1310 Main Street in Scotland Neck from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This location joins 33 other playgrounds in Trillium’s region as part of its Play Together Accessible Playground grants that started in 2015.

This playground will include accommodations that welcome children and adults of all abilities, including:
A rubber surface to allow for smooth transport with wheelchairs and other assistive devices
Ramps to access slides and other elements
Equipment that will appeal to children with sensory issues
Trillium provided $500,000 to Halifax County for the construction of the playground.
Trillium and Halifax County will host the public grand opening event, rain or shine.
