The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office announced the retirement of longtime officer Wallace Ransom, who officially ended his 30-year career today.

Ransom has worked his entire law enforcement career with the sheriff’s office, Captain Patrick Jacobs said, starting with the office in 1993.

Ransom retired as a lieutenant. “Throughout his years of service in law enforcement Ransom has been a major asset to the sheriff’s office and the citizens of Northampton County,” Jacobs said. “He has worked numerous years in the patrol division as a sergeant and lieutenant, within the child support division, and within the court division.” During his career he also worked as a patrol officer with the Garysburg Police Department for more than 21 years.

“The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Lieutenant Ransom on his retirement and we wish him great success in his future endeavors.”
