The Halifax County Health Department will return to monthly COVID-19 reports as it sees a decrease in the number of positive cases.
The department reported that the county has gone to the yellow category, which reflects a medium level of transmission.
The next report will be released on November 2.

The department said there have been 65 new positive cases reported since its update last week. There have been 16,998 total positive cases reported since March of 2020.
The department added one death related to the virus, which brings the total to 195.
While the overall numbers have decreased, there has been a slight increase in hospitalizations at ECU North over the past week.
Measurements of COVID in the wastewater have decreased over the past week.
