A Florida man who was unable to pay for a lottery ticket Saturday morning was arrested and charged with second-degree trespassing and resisting a public officer after he caused a disturbance, according to the Weldon Police Department.

Corporal H. Cross responded to the 1500 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway around 11:45 a.m. and spoke with a store clerk and the person causing the disturbance, 51-year-old Glen Allen McNally of Orlando.

Cross received several names from the man before ultimately identifying him under his real name, Chief Christopher Davis said.

The man had been asked to leave several times and was placed under arrest for failing to do so.

He received a $1,000 secured bond and September 21 court date.

Roanoke Rapids police Lieutenant J. Salmon assisted.
