A man who reportedly attacked a customer in a Hollister convenience store Sunday night was shot in the leg, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to Journigan’s Convenient Mart around 7:30 p.m. after receiving a report of the shooting, Chief Deputy Scott Hall said.
Deputies learned a man was in the store shopping when he was approached by Tyrese Lynch, 22, of Hollister.
Lynch purportedly began attacking the customer, who fled outside and got inside a vehicle.
Lynch jumped on the vehicle and continued to strike the victim as he was attempting to leave the scene.
The driver fired a shot at Lynch and struck him in the leg.
Hall said further investigation will determine whether charges will be filed.
