The Roanoke Rapids High School SkillsUSA Chapter was awarded a $2,000 donation from Reser's Fine Foods on Friday through their Reser's Cares team.

The Reser's Cares program is a nationwide effort to support the communities near their plant locations.

The Reser's Cares Team awards local organizations whose missions align with theirs and who strengthen the community through innovative and inclusive work.

The monetary donation will be used to support an upcoming SkillsUSA fundraiser and to help send members to the SkillsUSA North Carolina State Leadership and Skills Conference in April.   SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.

SkillsUSA helps each student excel by providing educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education in the nation’s classrooms.
