Halifax County continues to hold in the moderate category of community spread of COVID-19, Health Director Bruce Robistow said this afternoon.

“Although our numbers have crept up slightly we remain in a moderate rating of community spread,” he said. “I would attribute our ability to maintain moderate spread to the successful mitigation in our public schools and community college. Halifax County does not have large venues such as sporting events and large concerts. Our primary super spreader would be our school systems so they deserve credit for reducing the spread of COVID-19 in our county.

This is a great time for those who are not vaccinated to consider getting the vaccine.”
