The following public health community events are scheduled:

Vidant Health is hosting a free community health and wellness event in Weldon Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dr. Ervin V. Griffin Centre on the campus of Halifax Community College. The community health event will feature a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for community members 18 and older, COVID-19 testing, blood pressure screenings, diabetes screenings, dental screenings, provider consultation, colorectal health information, employment opportunities, advance care planning discussions, mental health resources, MyChart sign-ups, organ donation information and health benefits assistance. 

Local food trucks and fresh produce will be available at the event. 

Halifax Community College and the Halifax County Health Department will be on site to provide educational resources. 

Halifax County Health Department 

The department will offer COVID-19 vaccines as well as booster vaccines at the following events:

Monday at the Weldon Housing Complex located at 165 Dogwood Drive Weldon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in partnership with ABC 2.

Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the U.S. Military Expo at Halifax Community College

These vaccines are being offered for military only.

Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Enfield Public Housing located at 716 Freedom Street in partnership with ABC 2.
