Two people were arrested and charged Wednesday following a shooting into a home on Highway 561 in the Hollister area.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said no injuries were reported.
Hall said the shooting occurred around 10 p.m.
Deputy Dennis Coley spotted a white Lexus in the area. The sheriff’s office had received reports that occupants of a white Lexus had pointed a weapon at another vehicle.
The occupants were later identified as passenger Devonta Hill, 28, and the driver, Majesta Richardson, 23, both of Hollister.
Coley initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver fled and traveled down Highway 561. During the pursuit, shots were fired from the vehicle before the driver stopped near Capps Road.
Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office assisted as well as additional Halifax County deputies.
Hill was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and assault by pointing a gun.
He received a $50,000 bond and August 11 court date.
Richardson was charged with felony speed to elude arrest and awaits the same court date as Hill. She posted a $10,000 bond.
Investigation continues on the shooting into an occupied dwelling.
