Saturday night at "The Roanoke Rapids Theatre" was about the children of Halifax County.  First Media Radio 'The Mavrick" 102.3 FM hosted a night of country music at The Roanoke Rapids Theatre with three talented acts.

Mikele Buck and Brandon Ross took to the stage first. Mikele Buck, who lives in Greenville and is a country singer who is a veteran of the Iraq war, gave an incredibly moving performance on The Voice, dedicated to his friend from the military who committed suicide. Brandon Ross, who lives in Statesville and is a guitarist/soloist.

Crawford and Power were second to hit the stage. Crawford & Power was born of red clay, back roads, callouses, and ingenuity passed down from mash makers. With roots in country, Americana, and southern rock, they seek to spawn a classic country music revival with a splash of sweet iced tea and whiskey. Their unique approach to a fading genre has been lauded as a breath of fresh air amidst the commercialization of sacred American music genres. The two have already opened for a variety of artists including The Marshall Tucker Band, Drake White, Joe Diffie, Luke Combs, and Jerry Douglas to name a few. With a quickly growing schedule, the duo is expanding their geographic to a city near you soon. Crawford & Power made their 2018 CMA Music Festival debut at Storme Warren's Nashville Navy Party. Their debut EP, "Play a Hank Jr. Song," was released on June 8th, it is a no-holds barred approach to country music all too familiar to their fans.

Then to close the stage show was Jason Michael Carroll, Jason Michael Carroll, who is from Youngsville is an American country music artist. After being discovered at a local talent competition in 2004, Carroll was signed to the Arista Nashville label in 2006, releasing his debut album Waitin' in the Country that year. This album has produced three consecutive Top 40 country hits for him on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts: "Alyssa Lies", "Livin' Our Love Song" and "I Can Sleep When I'm Dead". Carroll's second album, Growing Up Is Getting Old, has also produced his fourth and fifth Top 40 hits.

The party didn't stop there. The Roanoke Valley's own Michael Telliga entertained some guest in the Theatre lobby to close out the night.
