The Halifax County Health Department reported the following numbers on COVID-19 this afternoon:

As of midnight Wednesday, the department is aware of 1,381 confirmed tests performed on residents; there are 240 positive cases; two related deaths; and 174 recoveries.

The approximate number of current cases can be calculated by subtracting the recoveries from the positives.

There are seven tests pending and 1,134 negative results.

Health Director Bruce Robistow said in his afternoon update the daily graphic he provides now shows an upward trend regarding positive cases. “This news provides added importance to the fact we all need to continue to practice the three W’s — waiting 6-feet apart in line, handwashing, and wearing a facial covering in public — and also continue to follow the governor’s executive orders.”
