Two more positive cases of the novel coronavirus have been added in Halifax County, bringing the total to 66.

Health system Director Bruce Robistow said in his update today, the system is aware of 419 confirmed tests.

The following is the breakdown of the most current tests:

66 positive cases; one related death; and 36 recoveries.

There are nine tests pending and 345 negative results.

The state Department of Public Safety said there remains 17 inmates at Caledonia Correctional Institution in Tillery who have tested positive.

Robistow said the cases remain spread across the county.

The trend for COVID-19 remains in a downward direction.

Northampton County

There are 88 total positive COVID-19 cases with 64 having recovered and four related deaths, the county’s health department reported this afternoon.

Statewide

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reported in its update today, there are 11,509 confirmed cases; 420 deaths; 139,475 completed tests and 502 people hospitalized.

All but two of the state’s 100 counties have reported positive results.
