There are now 32 positive novel coronavirus cases in Halifax County, health system Director Bruce Robistow reported this afternoon.
Of the 32 positive cases reported, 12 have recovered, he said.
Robistow said in his update the new count reflects the addition of one positive case as of 11:30 this morning.
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety, as of 3 p.m. Thursday, added one positive case at Caledonia Correctional Institution in Tillery, bringing the total number of inmates who have tested positive to seven. There have been eight tests performed at the prison with one negative result.
There has been one COVID-19 related death reported in Halifax County.
In its update Thursday afternoon, the Northampton County Health Department reported one additional positive case, bringing its total to 70.
There has been one novel coronavirus death reported in the county.
