The Halifax County Public Health System today added three more positive test results for the novel coronavirus bringing the total to 28.

Out of the positive cases, 10 have been deemed recovered, system Director Bruce Robistow said in an update this morning. There has been one death, which the health director reported Monday.

Asked about a general location of the positive cases, Robistow said they are all across the county.

Some of the cases are related while some aren’t, he said.

In the update today, Robistow renewed the admonition for residents to “continue to encourage everyone to stay home, practice social distancing, hand washing, coughing or sneezing into a tissue or the bend of your elbow, sanitizing items and surfaces regularly.”

He also encourages all essential company leaders to “strongly encourage their staff to wear a mask when working in close proximity to customers and fellow staff members. This will prevent people that may have COVID-19 from spreading it to others … anyone that feels that they cannot keep the social distance of 6 feet or more, should also wear a mask if available or appropriate facial covering.”
