The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain A.M. Harris:
Shortly before noon today, Agent D.J. Epperson stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Hinson Street near Branch Avenue.
During the stop, Epperson requested the assistance of Lieutenant J. Bozard and his dog Fino. During the search of the vehicle fentanyl and items of drug paraphernalia were seized.

Epperson arrested and charged Melissa Johnson, 38, of Washington Street, for possession of schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wayne Parker, 31, of Sunset Avenue, was arrested for outstanding warrants and possession of schedule I controlled substance.
The outstanding warrants were obtained by Investigator G. Williams of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department for obtaining property by false pretense, uttering a forged instrument, larceny and possession of stolen goods for a matter on January 13.
Johnson and Parker received May 20 court dates.
Fairlane Drive
Shortly after 4 p.m., agents executed a search warrant at a property on Fairlane Drive in Roanoke Rapids.
During the search several items of drug paraphernalia were collected.
Agents seized items consistent with the use and sell of fentanyl and meth.
Agent C.A. Parker cited Brandon Reeves, 27, with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Reeves received a May 20 court date.
