Friday night, Texas native Country singer Mark Chestnutt brought nothing but good old Honky-Tonk to the Weldon Mills Theatre presented by BarnBurner Promotions.
Former American Idol Golden Ticket winner Presley Barker from Traphill North Carolina kicked off the evening. The country/blues music singer/songwriter played a list of his own written songs along with several legend cover songs. Barker ended his opening set and took to the crowd and shook hands, took photos and thanked folks for coming out and made his way to the lobby to greet and meet with anyone wanting to say hello.
Ninties Country singer Mark Chestnutt entertained the Roanoke Rapids venue with his hits such as Bubba Shot the Jukebox, I just Wanted You to Know, It Sure is Monday and Goin' Through The Big D. Ninety minutes of old Honky-Tonk Country he stated. His guitar strap displayed a large G etched in the leather and he stated that his friend the late George Jones gifted him the strap and he was honored to wear it.
