A South Carolina man remains in the Halifax County Detention Center after he was charged on drug counts, including trafficking, and a weapon violation.

Kendall Bellamy, 27, of Longs, South Carolina was charged Sunday morning around 10 when Corporal J. Velez of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling in the area of Interstate 95.

Velez initiated a traffic stop for a violation and discovered marijuana, a concealed firearm and what appeared to be a trafficking amount of cocaine.

Bellamy was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, and carrying a concealed gun.

He received a $65,000 secured bond and Tuesday district court date.
