The Center for Energy Education is partnering with the state’s environmental agency to host a public engagement session for community input toward greenhouse gas and air pollution reduction efforts.

C4EE and State Energy Office staff from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality on March 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. invite Roanoke Valley residents to C4EE’s campus at 460 Airport Road, Roanoke Rapids, to offer comments on the agency’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant planning.

The listening session will provide localized, public input to build upon the agency’s current strategies toward cutting greenhouse gas emissions across the state.

The North Carolina CPRG planning project is an interagency effort with the Department of Transportation, Department of Commerce, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and DEQ serving as lead agency.

The event is free and open to the public.

Registration is not required but encouraged by using this form. Information about other engagement sessions can be found at this link

“Sharing your feedback is a vital step to implementing programs that improve the air we breathe,” said Mozine Lowe, executive director of C4EE. “Join us to speak for rural communities as our state agencies determine the direction and priorities of our future.”
