A Roanoke Rapids man with an outstanding order for arrest for a probation violation was charged Monday night for using a debit card inside a vehicle he took without authorization.
Major Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy J. Morales responded to a residence on Simmons Street for a report of a stolen vehicle around 10 a.m.
Andrew Christian Corbett, 32, of Roanoke Rapids had taken the car but brought it back before deputies arrived. He left the area on foot.

At approximately 6 p.m. deputies received information that Corbett was seen at a local business on Bolling Road. Corbett was located and taken into custody and served the outstanding warrants and order for arrest.
As of this report he remains in the Halifax County Detention Center on a $35,000 secured bond with a March 17 district court date.
