On Saturday deputies of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Sam Powell Dairy Road and Stack Powell Road in reference to a domestic disturbance, according to Major Anzell Harris.
While Deputy M. Kalkbrenner and Lieutenant R. Elder were speaking with a man identified as Tyrell Person, he abruptly put his hand into his pocket and pulled it back out dropping a small clear plastic baggie containing what appeared to be crack cocaine onto the ground by his foot.

Person had an outstanding warrant for assault inflicting serious bodily injury. He was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine and served with the outstanding warrant.
Person received a $500 bond for the outstanding warrant and an additional $3,500 bond for the possession of cocaine charge. He awaits a Tuesday district court date.
