Halifax Community College (HCC) is excited to honor Marvin Gaye and Gwen Ifill during the 2020 Black History Month Stamp Dedication celebration.

On Tuesday, Feb. 4, HCC will host its 13th Annual Stamp Dedication Ceremony.

This year, the college will recognize Marvin Gaye and Gwen Ifill.

Gaye was a charismatic and popular musician of the 1960s and 1970s.

Known as the “Prince of Soul,” Gaye was one of the most influential musicians of his generation.

Ifill was one of America’s most esteemed journalists. Among the first Afircan Americans to hold a prominent position in both broadcast and print journalism, she was both a trailblazer and an inspiration. Ifill lost her battle with cancer in 2016.

The Stamp Dedication ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. in the Dr. Ervin V. Griffin, Sr. Centre.
