Description: The primary purpose of this position is to provide and coordinate the Immunization Program for infants and adulthood. This is a State program with requirements to investigate vaccine preventable outbreaks, administer vaccines, develop/revise immunization policies, coordinate activities related to immunization updates for staff and physician offices as necessary and provide assessments for Roanoke Valley Adult Day Program. Also, Responsible for inventory control and ordering of all vaccines and preparing monthly reports as required for state contract addendum. The position will also require working daily clinics and performing investigations of positive COVID 19 patients including contract tracing, as necessary.

Requirements: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of Public Health Nursing experience; OR Master’s in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience; OR graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years of Public Health nursing experience. A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina and an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of N.C. is also required. All health department employees (with the exception of individuals with an accommodation or medical exemption) are required to get an annual flu shot vaccine as part of condition of employment.

Compensation: The hiring range for this position is $ 46,533 - $ 75,541. Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees’ Retirement System.

Description: A Deputy Sheriff is responsible for the general law enforcement work required by the Sheriff's Office. This law enforcement work includes keeping the peace, serving the public, protecting the lives, rights and property of all those within Halifax County. A Deputy Sheriff’s duties include taking calls from the public, serving the public, investigating complaints and criminal activity, traffic enforcement, serving civil and criminal process as well as other papers as required by the courts, developing suspects, arresting perpetrators, providing security for the courts, transporting prisoners and any other special assignments upon request. A Deputy Sheriff is expected to exercise good, sound judgment, make decisions in both normal and emergency situations and use discretion while carrying out the details of each task. Description: The Detention Officer I is responsible for the supervision, transportation, and security of inmates housed within the Halifax County Detention Facility. Work involves admitting and booking inmates, preparing inmates for transport and court or medical facilities, feeding inmates, and supervising all other activities by inmates. Work also involves preparing computerized reports and logs, periodic searches, maintaining security, and counseling and advising inmates as needed. Work also requires operating a computer management system and overseeing control and surveillance centers within the facility. Care Coordination for at Risk Children (CMARC) Public Health

Description: This position provides case management for Medicaid children, ages birth through 5, who meet certain risk criteria for enrollment in the Care Coordination for at Risk Children (CMARC) Program. The main goals of CMARC are to improve health outcomes and reduce Medicaid costs for enrolled children. Signing and Retention Bonus: A non-refundable signing bonus in the amount of $3,750 will be paid in the selected applicant’s first paycheck following employment and execution of the Employment Signing and Retention Bonus Agreement. A retention bonus in the amount of $3,750 will be paid in the selected applicant’s next paycheck following the completion of 12 full months of employment in the same position with the County following the date of payment of the signing bonus.
