HALIFAX COUNTY SETS DATE FOR 2021 HARVEST DAYS

Halifax, NC—Halifax County government and Halifax County Cooperative Extension have set the date for the 2021 Harvest Days festival. After having to cancel last year’s event due to COVID, the County is excited to announce that this year’s Harvest Days will be held at the 4-H Rural Life Center on Friday, October 8 from 9 am to 2 pm, specifically for 4th and 5th grade students in any of our Halifax County public, charter, private or home schools, and Saturday, October 9, from 10 am to 5:30 pm for the public.

“We are looking forward to the return of Halifax County Harvest Days after having to cancel our 2020 event,” said Beth Burchell, Halifax County Extension Director. “This festival is a great opportunity for our community to join together to showcase the agricultural and cultural heritage of our county. There are exhibits and events for everyone young and old to enjoy.”

As always, the event will celebrate the wonderful world of agriculture, featuring farm animals, a horse show, antique tractors, hay wagon rides, agricultural museum, and educational exhibits, as well as entertainment throughout the day and local vendors selling homemade food and arts and crafts. This year’s Harvest Days will end on a high note with two hours of live music from 3:30-5:30 pm by the very popular Cat5 band, presented by VisitHalifax.com. Some exhibits may end prior to the start of the final band performance.

Food and arts & crafts vendors are still being accepted with a reasonable vendor fee. For a vendor application or other event information, contact Halifax County Cooperative Extension at 252-583-5161. The 4-H Rural Life Center is located at 13763 Highway 903, Halifax, NC  27839.
