Halifax County is now accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the new Veterans Service Advisory Board.
This board will be instrumental in supporting and advocating for the needs of veterans and their families, while strengthening coordination between the county and the local veteran community.
The Veterans Service Advisory Board shall not exceed nine members.
The county seeks to appoint a well-rounded and representative board that reflects the diversity of military service within the community.
Membership may include representatives from all branches of the United States Armed Forces and/or individuals representing current, chartered veterans’ organizations in Halifax County. Additionally, one member position may be filled by a parent or spouse of a veteran and/or a Gold Star family member.
Board members will provide guidance and recommendations on programs, policies, and initiatives that impact veterans in Halifax County.
Members will also support outreach efforts and help improve access to services and resources for veterans and their families.
Individuals with a strong commitment to service, advocacy, and community engagement are encouraged to apply.
