Gloria Sumner Clemmons, 84, of Conway, North Carolina entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Gloria was the daughter of the late Wiley Everette and Bernice Futrell Sumner of Conway, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, Wiley Edward Sumner and brother-in-law, Luther C. Hall.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ernest Clemmons, daughter, Sue Clemmons Harris (Alan), her sister, Betsy Hall Phelps (Harrell), and sister-in-law, Priscilla Sumner.

In addition, she is survived by three brothers-in-law and their wives; Waddell Clemmons (Judy), Danny Clemmons (Wanda) and Don Clemmons (Debbie); and one sister-in-law, Betty Galloway. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gloria was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the W.M.U. for several years.

A celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Andy Sloan and Rev. Randy Martin officiating with visitation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to Gentiva Hospice, 52 Anna Louise Lane, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, 27870.

The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their tender care and concern shown to Gloria during her illness.
