Iris Ann Shearin Smith, 84 of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Halifax County on September 18, 1938 to the late Ira Milton Shearin and Lillian Robertson Shearin.

Iris loved her yard and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Gene Smith; her daughter, Debra Jean Smith and, Chip Edwards of Garysburg, NC; her son, Terry Wane Smith and his wife, Susan of Wilmington, NC; her granddaughter, Shanon Wamsley and her husband, Ryan of Morgantown, WV; her grandson Ben Thomas Smith of Wilmington, NC; her great-granddaughter, Whitaker Wamsley of Morgantown , WV and her special friend, Vikki Reid.

Graveside services will be private.
