An Enfield man faces charges from a Sunday afternoon stop which led to the discovery of weapons and marijuana.

Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy K. Taylor stopped Xavier Rivers, 21, for a window tint violation.

Taylor smelled marijuana and saw Rivers in possession of an assault rifle in the passenger seat.

A search of the vehicle revealed a concealed pistol, 39 grams of marijuana, an open container of alcohol, and marijuana paraphernalia.

Rivers was  arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, open container, carrying a concealed weapon, and a window tint violation. 

He has a March 28 district court date.
