Littleton man charged in vehicle break-ins

A man with ties to the Littleton and Pitt County area awaits an October 21 court date for motor vehicle break-in charges lodged by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

He is often associated with the Halifax County Economic Development Commission slogan, “Working together works.”

Three die in Scotland Neck crash

Three people died in a single-vehicle crash outside Scotland Neck Saturday night.

A preliminary report by Trooper T.C. Wood shows the only contributing factor in the wreck was speed.

Littleton rolling out COP program

Littleton will become the second town in Halifax County to have a Citizens on Patrol program where volunteers become an extra set of eyes and ears for the police department.

As Hurricane Joaquin continues to make an eastward drive, the concerns of its impact on the Roanoke Valley have not diminished.

The judge assigned to hear the UNC Center for Civil Rights lawsuit against the Halifax County Board of Commissioners over school district lines said he will take the center's motion to allow nine out-of-state attorneys to assist in the matter under advisement.
