75 bindles seized in commitment service

A man who was being served with commitment papers for child support was found to allegedly be in possession of 75 bindles of heroin, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

A search for a missing person Saturday in Scotland Neck led deputies to the discovery of trafficking amounts of heroin.

HRMC gets new executive chef

Halifax Regional Medical Center is welcoming a new executive chef.

Juvenile joy ride ends in chase, crash

A 13-year-old was taken into custody following an apparent joy ride early this morning that resulted in a police chase and a crash.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is announcing a new program where residents can properly dispose of old or unused medicine by simply dropping it off at the sheriff’s office.
