Council backs Atlantic Coast Pipeline

Roanoke Rapids City Council tonight approved a resolution endorsing the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, a joint venture with Dominion Power, Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas.

City school board announces Patterson plans

The Roanoke Rapids Board of Education moved forward tonight on plans to develop a comprehensive athletic complex behind Roanoke Rapids High School.

The detention hearing for Sterling Moody, who faces a federal cocaine trafficking count, has been continued until September 22 in Greenville.

The Davie Volunteer Fire Department this morning handed investigation of a house fire on Highway 158 to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Possible ADT scam reported in county

ADT Security has reported four complaints across the state today of people posing as representatives of the company trying to get into people's homes, Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said.

A man wanted for a series of residential break-ins in Roanoke Rapids was arrested Sunday night in Garysburg where a domestic dispute erupted involving one of his relatives.
